Two trafficked girls aged 10 and 14 have been rescued in Cambodia, when a motocycle driver offered to arrange girls for the director of operations of the Australian anti-trafficking organisation The Grey Man. The man was taken to a hotel and showed the two young Vietnamese girls. The police were then contacted and working with International Justice Mission, the girls were rescued. Two workers in a hotel in the Muraqqabat area of Dubai are accused of forcing dancers in the hotel night club to have sex with clients. One of the accused was in charge of bringing the women from India and had oversight of them in the hotel. The second defendent is a waiter at the hotel who is accused of driving the women to clients. Three Oregan residents have been charged with sex trafficking of a minor and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors. Police have arrested Ravinder Kaur for allegedly running a brothel inside the Abhishek Hotel in the Kahnpur area of Ahmedabad. It is alleged that Ravinder brought girls to the hotel from outside the state to engage them in prostitution. Ravinder Kaur has been charged under the Immoral Trafficking Act. Police have arrested Shankar Kumar Mishra, the manager of Delhi's Dreamland Hotel, along with a Russian woman allegedly being forced to prostitute herself, after a raid in Rajkot. Investigations are ongoing, but both have been charged under the Immoral Traffic Act. To read more, please click here

Brandon Thompson, 28, and 30-year-old Megan Hayes could face life in prison having being charged with trafficking minors and forcing them to have sex in the Motel 6 in Sioux Falls. The US State Department has issued new guidelines saying no diplomat below the rank of minister can bring any domestic servants without proof the diplomat can pay a prevailing wage. This is in part in response to 42 documented allegations of diplomats engaging in human trafficking, many in the Washington, D.C. area, according to a Government Accountability Office report. It encourages consumers to understand where the goods they purchase come from and how they were developed. The International Organization for Migration points out that exploited workers provide cheap labor in "construction, agriculture, fishing, textiles and other sectors whose products end up on rich-country shop shelves." In a recent study by the Indian National Commission for Women, more than half of the 612 provinces in India serve as an origin point for human trafficking. The south and east are especially affected. Two residents of Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the USA have been convicted of trafficking children for sexual exploitation. David Pierre, 34, was sentenced to ten years in a federal prison. His partner Jenna Linden, 24, had earlier been sentenced to five years in prison. Investigations had been initiated after a fourteen year old and a sixteen year old were rescued from the escort service Pierre had been operating.
