Police in Indonesia are investigating another case of internal trafficking into forced prostitution, showing that the problem is still significant in the country. Police in the city of Jambi are investigating the alleged trafficking of seven women from West Java into sexual exploitation in the city. The case came to the notice of the authorities when the uncle of two of the women contacted the police. A 50 year old man is being held on suspicion of buying the women from a human trafficking gang. It appears that the suspect was previously arrested for a similar offence.
