The Belgium Appellate Court increased Tuesday the human trafficking sentence of the Bulgarian citizen Georgi Dimitrov Komitov, a.k.a. Cherniya (the Black) from six to eight years.
The 33-year-old Komitov was found to have been one of the leaders of an organized crime group dealing with human trafficking and prostitution, which functioned in Belgium between November 1, 2005, and May 1, 2007.
The Belgian court has decided to increase Komitov's sentence because of the blatant human rights violations and the systematic violence that his organized crime group exercised over their victims.
The case prosecutor Rene Marchal has announced that through a Bulgarian lawyer Komitov paid a young girl to tell the police that the women that he coerced into prostitution were crazy for him. Source
